Have you ever heard that 'Nihongo (Japanese) is the most difficult language' ?

To pass JLPT

To pass the each grade of JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test), how mach vocabularies are required?

N5: 800

N4: 1,500

N3: 4,000

N2: 6,000

N1: 10,000

As you guess, N5 is lowest and N1 is highest. Passing N1 is quite tough for Japanese learners.

How about native Japanese?

Elementary school students (-12years old) : 5000-20,000

Junior High students (-15years old) : 20,000-40,000

High school students (-18years old) : 40,000-45,0000

University students (-22years old) : 45,000-50,000

Business person : more than 50,000

Native Japanese know and use great number of Nihongo vocabularies.

This is one of the reason why Nihongo is difficult for you.
