We pic up and share some useful Japanese (Nihongo) phrases which you can use in your daily life in Japan.

Today’s topic is 『ごめんね (gomen-ne)』

You may know “I’m sorry“ is 「ごめんなさい（gomen-nasai）」 in Japanese and used when you apologize.

And short phrase of 「ごめんなさい (gomen-nasai)」 is 『ごめん (gomen)』 or 『ごめんね (gomen-ne)』.

You can say ごめんなさい for any type of people. But, ごめん and ごめんね are can be used only with your family, friends and somebody in the close relationship with you.

On business scene, the better phrase is 『すみません (sumimasen)』. You can use this to your boss or clients.

If you say this to your friend[s], it’s sounds weird because it’s too much polite for the relationship.
